Minecraft 1.18 update Snapshot capture revealed

Mojang launched the first part of the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs update last month. The 1.17 update did not meet expectations as there was no world generation change. The “Caves and Cliffs” section of the update will arrive with Minecraft 1.18 later this year.

A few days ago, the developer released a test photo for the upcoming 1.18 update. This snapshot is very different from the datapack provided with 1.17 snapshots. This proves how part two of the Caves and Cliffs update will change an entire generation of the world.

Unfortunately, it is an experimental picture and does not support the world from other versions. Since its launch, fans are sure to be wondering when the Minecraft 1.18 snapshot will start rolling out.

Minecraft 1.18 Snapshots release date

On June 13, Mojang released Experimental Snapshot 1.18 for the Java Edition. They also added an experimental Caves and Cliffs option in the Bedrock Edition. Along with this experimental feature, Mojang also revealed a release date for 1.18 shots.

Mojang said:

“1.18 pictures will probably start around September.”

Players can expect the first picture in the first week of September.

Mojang will probably release a lot of Minecraft pictures by the second week of December. As announced in April, the second part of Caves and Cliffs will be out before the winter holidays.

The first snapshot for 1.18 will be released in September and will likely add a new experimental snapshot 1. Here are some features that Mojang will likely add in the first few snapshots.

Features you can expect in the first 1.18 capture

The developers have just released a 1.18 experimental snapshot featuring a natural generation of lush caves, dripstone caves, and new mountains. They have encouraged players to send feedback on the snapshot.

Mojang will definitely try to apply the feedback aspect. Players can discover lush caves, coral caves, and five new mountain biomes in the first capture.

For those unaware, snapshot 1.18 also changes the state of mass spawning in Minecraft. Hostile hordes will now only lay their eggs in complete darkness. This means hostile masses will only lay eggs when the light level is zero. This game changing feature will also be added from snapshot 1.18.
